Kepa Arrizabalaga has revealed that Mauricio Pochettino wanted him to stay at West London club, Chelsea.
Kepa, 28, joined Spanish side, Real Madrid on a year loan deal in the just concluded summer transfer window.
“Pochettino wanted me to stay. He told me that I was going to play, that he trusted me, but I wanted a change,” the goalkeeper told Marca as reported by sports journalist, Fabrizio Romano.
The former Athletico Bilbao shot-stopper also said that Thomas Tuchel wanted him at Bayern Munich.
“Tuchel also called me to join Bayern and it was close, but when Real Madrid comes in… it’s Real Madrid,” he disclosed.
Kepa signed for Chelsea in 2018 when the club triggered his €80 million (80 million euros) release clause to capture him from Athletico Bilbao – a deal that made him become the most expensive goalkeeper in football history.
